The first step to enrolling is to reach out to Ellie at 443-480-8373. After an initial phone call to determine if there is an opening that meets your needs, she will set up a time for a tour and interview. These are usually held in the early evening and last approximately 45 minutes. Whenever possible, both parents should attend and the child must be present. This allows both the family and provider to see if Kinder Connection is a good fit for the child’s needs and family’s desires for care. When there are multiple families interviewing for the same spot, the decision to accept a family is based on the child and family that are the best fit for providers’ style and the needs of the children currently in care.
Children of all abilities are accepted at Kinder Connection. General criteria are as follows:
Infants must be able to drink from a bottle and lay flat to sleep in order to attend. We recommend waiting until the child is 8 weeks old and has had their first set of immunizations, but that is not a requirement.
Children over 12 months with a variety of needs are accepted into the program as long as they are not a danger to themselves or others. We have extensive experience with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and learning delays. We also accept children with medical needs. Children who regularly harm themselves or others will be referred out to the local school district, whom we partner with, as we are unable to provide wrap-around services in an at-home setting and safety is our number one priority.
After acceptance into Kinder Connection, the following documents are required. Please fill them out completely and take the medical forms to be signed by your doctor.
